Scimitar 1010

Brand New Syndicate Catamaran
100% Australian Designed and Constructed

10% share $119,500 l Monthly fee $928

Since its introduction to the Australian market over 2 decades ago the SCIMITAR brand challenged what was accepted as normal, and developed a reputation for impeccably simple systems, clever design, and incredible fuel efficiency.

While the overall design of the today’s model remains relatively unchanged in appearance, the construction and engineering processes across the entire new range of SCIMITAR Power Catamarans have significantly upgraded. A range of enhancements have also been made to our internal layouts, that modernise and open up spaces offering more customisation than ever before.

Whether you’re out with friends, cruising with the kids, or adventuring with your partner, the SCIMITAR 1010 provides enormous opportunities with a small footprint.

This modernised layout, on a highly acclaimed, stable and fuel-efficient multihull platform, offering single level living, unobstructed upper activity deck with all the great characteristics that SCIMITAR has become so well known for. A low windage profile and reduced air draft means that the 1010 sedan can sneak into places normally only accessible by much smaller vessels.

This all-new SCIMITAR 1010 Sedan is a first for Smart Boating and we truly believe she that perfect addition to our fleet and ideally suited to Pittwater.

Wide open spaces

Featuring the all-new panoramic aft galley layout, the volume of space both inside and out is simply astounding for a boat of this size. With the aft windows open, you can remain connected with the rest of the boat, and everyone onboard, no matter where they are. Whether you’re out with friends, or wanting to keep an eye on the kids, the SCIMITAR 1010 Sedan is a highly versatile entertainer.

The helm station features an innovative flip-down console that becomes an additional countertop when you’re at anchor, while a retractable TV deploys near the windshield and the push of a button.

With beds for 6 people (two doubles and two singles), there is plenty of space and privacy when it comes time to turn in.

Performance (and Economy)

The performance of the SCIMITAR 1010 Sedan is exceptional whether you are looking for sedate cruising at 8 knots or at high speeds in the 15-20 knot range, the ride quality and consumption is leagues ahead of its competitors.

The semi displacement round bilge hull shape, complimented by an active trim control system ensures optimum performance at any speed, regardless of the people and gear you have aboard.

Cruising at 15-18 knots, the 1010 Sedan is using a mere 25-35 litres per hour – combined!

Fitted with twin 195hp Yanmar diesel engines, conventional shaft drives and propellers with grounding keels, the 1010 Sedan has a draft of less than 1m, providing for stress free operations in even the most constrained of waterways.

The large roof deck houses the solar panels, which when combined with the large lithium battery bank means there is no need for a generator, resulting in silence at every anchorage, and total self-sufficiency if you want to extend your stay.

Beautiful Bayview location

The PB32 is moored at Bayview Anchorage Marina, the original home of Smart Boating.

Bayview is a state-of-the-art floating marina and your gateway to the stunning waterways of Pittwater and Broken Bay. It’s a beautiful cruise north towards Lion Island, you have Cowan Water and the Hawkesbury River to the west and Pittwater to the south.

Soak up the atmosphere before or after your cruise too with our waterfront cafe and restaurant.

Unlike other boat share arrangements, SMART Boating boat shares are an EQUITY purchase with a CAPITAL RETURN to you when the boat is sold at the end of the term.

The SMART Boating syndicate runs until August 2029, after which time the boat will be sold and all owners receive an equal share of the net sale price. If you want or need to exit the syndicate early there is no penalty and we can even help facilitate the sale of your share.

To find out more: Call Martin on 0419 265 273 or David on 0418 211 832.

We’ll be more than happy to show you over the boat and if there is genuine interest, get you and your family out for a test cruise.

Do you have any questions? Maybe these answers will help.

Yes. Your unit in the Trust is a tradable asset, which you are free to on-sell at any time to anyone for any price.

However, the new owner will have to satisfy certain conditions to protect the remaining owners and pay for their familiarisation session on the boat (cost of $250 incl GST + expenses).

Smart Boating will broker a unit for you for a 5% + GST share of the sale price achieved.

The syndicate agreement runs for five years, at which time the boat is sold and the net proceeds are then returned to each owner according to the equity they hold.

This has the benefit of giving you the best resale value and is before maintenance costs would start to increase on the boat. Many owners stay with us and move on to a new yacht or upgrade to a larger model.

No, basically everything is included.

The only additional costs to bear in mind are the cost for acquiring and installing additional equipment voted upon by the owners themselves, any insurance excess payments that may become due following a claim, stand-by use fees, any contingency fund top ups needed and, for motorboat owners, the cost of fuel used.

Every boat is comprehensively fitted out with all the necessary equipment and luxuries, including cooking utensils, bedding, hot/cold showers, stereo with CD player, iPod connection and cockpit speakers, barbecue, electric fridge and icebox, bimini and boom awning, wind, depth and speed instruments, electric flush toilet, electric anchor winch and safety gear.

In the unlikely event of damage, each owner has signed an agreement to pay for any damage they cause to the boat.

The boat will be fully insured, which should limit this liability to a maximum insurance excess of $2,000.

The boat and equipment are initially covered by a manufacturer’s warranty and there is an allowance in the monthly fee that goes into a sinking fund for unpredictable expenses.

  • We use carefully selected brands and boats that are ideal for multiple owner use and that we believe will achieve the best resale values in five years’ time.
  • We have an office open seven days a week where your boat is berthed and have a team available for any assistance required with berthing or the boat’s administration and operation.
  • We offer the full range of maintenance services from the marina, which prevents the unreliability of contractors who may not care for your boat as we would.
  • We can offer all syndicate owners additional training from qualified instructors.
  • We have an on-water breakdown service available to you throughout Pittwater/Broken Bay/The Hawkesbury River. (Note – charges may apply for this service.)
  • Your boat will always be cleaned and prepared for your use before you arrive with the tanks full, fridge cold, hatches opened and batteries charged – simply walk on and sail off.

This is a common question and really depends on the person at the helm. Luckily for you, a member of the Smart Boating team will be around to jump on board and give you a hand.

Maybe you’re concerned because you don’t know how to sail? To be honest, if you have enough skills to manage a motorboat it would take very little to gain the skills you need to manage a yacht. All our yachts have reliable and convenient in-mast furling.

Our ‘learn to sail a yacht’ courses are great value and perfect to get you up to standard. Or we can arrange one-on-one training to suit your specific needs.

And talking of sailing… have you considered how relaxing sailing is? But can you find peace, quiet and performance on a powerboat, too? Yes, of course you can!

Our Integrity 380 powerboat gets you where you need to go quietly and quickly, at up to 14 knots. This easy to handle motor cruiser boasts the space and comfort you’d expect from a 36+ footer!

No. To ensure the vessel is kept at a high standard and for the safety of the dog and comfort of the other owners, we don’t allow you to bring any animals on board.

Yes – and we even have dedicated Smart Boating buoys in designated areas.

Our boat owners are just like you and they are living their best life. Read what they have to say about their Smart Boating experiences.

“We were amazed at what Smart Boating delivered for our money compared to buying our own boat outright. Both David and Martin are friendly and relaxed, and one of them is always around to help or give advice if I want it. If there are any little problems with the boat, they are always sorted out straight away. “

Mike Weedon, Hanse 345

“We simply walk on – and walk off at the end of the day, and there’s no time wasted maintaining or worrying about the boat – we leave all that to Smart Boating. We were looking for ease of use and that’s what Smart Boating delivers. We get to enjoy all the good bits about owning a boat and we leave all the hard bits to Smart Boating.”

Mark Tyler, Integrity 380

“Our share in ‘Infinity’ has not only given us more time together as a family… it has given us so much pleasure and some very precious memories – at a fraction of the cost of owning our own boat outright.”

Richard Body, Lagoon 38

The boat is always perfect. The people at Smart Boating deliver what they say they are going to deliver – a walk-on walk-off service. And they deliver it every time. We arrive to a clean boat, full of fuel and water, with fresh linen on board. We don’t have to worry about anything. We just head off up Pittwater and relax.”

Megan and Adrian Barnes, Hanse 37

Hi Martin, team. Just a short note to say thank you for a seamless onboarding to Smartboating and Laguna. I have just returned from our maiden voyage/weekend booking, everything was in order and all had a great experience. Congrats on your product and service.

Andrew Riggs, Lagoon 42

“I wanted to say thank you for making the experience so memorable. We have so valued and enjoyed our time on the water with you support and service. We look back as being so fortunate in having Smart Boating look after us.”
