Sydney's Middle Harbour

Introducing the Jeanneau NC14

A modern and luxurious family cruiser, she will be based at Clontarf, Middle Harbour. A perfect platform for Sydney Harbour or escaping for a few days up to Pittwater and beyond.

The NC14 forms part of the New Concept (NC) sports cruiser range, which has sold more than 500 boats since its inception.

Designed by renowned naval architects Camillo and Vittoria Garroni in conjunction with the Jeanneau Factory in France, the NC14’s displays pure and assertive European lines. In perfect combination with ample volume and quality finishes.

Features of the Jeanneau NC 14

The boat features spacious daytime living spaces, including a dining area and galley arranged around a spacious deck saloon. Access to the expansive evening living areas is via a comfortable corridor with head and shower compartments and a walk-in closet.

The internal volumes throughout the 46-foot Tony Castro hull feature elongated portlights and topside windows to further enhance the space distribution.

The boat features high-quality materials that exude contemporary elegance from the moment you step aboard.

The layout

The Jeanneau NC 14 offers a wide, teak swim platform that is extendable for easy access in and out of the water with loads of room for water toys.

The U-shaped seating aft deck converts to a sun pad with a dining table and is protected with a GRP roof and surrounding safety bulwarks.

A triple sliding door allows easy access into the galley and offers an indoor/outdoor serving area for glorious alfresco meals.

The well-equipped galley has all you need for a couple of nights or a long weekend stay. It includes a twin-burner ENO stove-oven, stainless steel sink and 130L fridge, all neatly covered in a streamlined, dark wooden worktop with smoothly rounded edges to prevent bruising at sea.

The Jeanneau NC 14 also comes with extensive storage for heavy items with a large lazarette located underfoot. Fitted in the under-floor locker is a 110L drinks fridge, icemaker and of course, being a French boat – wine racks. Best of all, SMART Boat provides the perfect way to enjoy the NC14. There’s no preparation, no cleaning, no drama. All you need to do is book, board and head out for a perfect day on the water!

The main electrics, hot-water system and refrigeration components are easily accessed here too.

The helm

The well-positioned helm and steering console offer skippers a commanding view of their surroundings. The console, covered by an electric sunroof, is complete with a full suite of controls including IPS Joystick and Bow Thruster.

Dominating the console is a Simrad 12-inch plotter well angled to allow for seated or upright steering.

Cabin layout

The two-cabin layout will suit a family of four or a couple with guests.

The owner’s en-suite cabin is in the bow, with plenty of headroom thanks to the upright topsides. It has a comfortable queen-size bed that cleverly separates to become two single beds, revealing a hidden drawer.

Side shelves, a laptop recess, and two sizeable hanging lockers give plenty of additional storage.

Ample light pours into the guest cabin from the hull windows, and the curved top hatch offers views and catches a cool breeze at anchor.

A full size, separate shower sits to port complete with bi-fold doors.

Volvo penta IPS

The NC14 utilises the tried and tested forward facing propellers of the Volvo Penta IPS System, giving the 46 footer plenty of versatility and stress free maneuvering in tight spots, perfect for a relaxing day on the water with your family and friends. Powered by 2x370hp IPS D6’s and a 11kw generator located midships, you are never left wanting for power both with the throttles or at anchor. There is even a docking station with joystick control in the aft cockpit.

The twin 450L fuel tanks are located forward to help balance the trim from the aft-mounted engines.

A smart choice

The Jeanneau NC 14 is based at Clontarf Marina, and shares are $89,500 per 10%. The monthly fee is $938.

Your monthly management fee includes:

  • Marina/mooring fees
  • Comprehensive insurance

  • Annual slip, anti-foul and hull polishing
  • Linen and laundry
  • Contingency fund for repairs and equipment replacement.

Unlike other boat share arrangements, SMART Boating boat shares are an equity purchase, with a capital return when we sell the boat at the end of the term.

This SMART Boating syndicate runs for three years, after which time we sell the boat and all owners will receive a guaranteed amount of their original investment returned. If you want or need to exit the syndicate early there is no penalty – and we can even help facilitate the sale of your share.

To find out more, please call Martin on 0419 265 273 or David on 0418 211 832. Or if you are ready to get started now, download an application form here.

FAQs

Do you have any questions? Maybe these answers will help.

Yes. Your unit in the Trust is a tradable asset, which you are free to on-sell at any time to anyone for any price.

However, the new owner will have to satisfy certain conditions to protect the remaining owners and pay for their familiarisation session on the boat (cost of $250 incl GST + expenses).

Smart Boating will broker a unit for you for a 5% + GST share of the sale price achieved.

The syndicate agreement runs for five years, at which time the boat is sold and the net proceeds are then returned to each owner according to the equity they hold.

This has the benefit of giving you the best resale value and is before maintenance costs would start to increase on the boat. Many owners stay with us and move on to a new yacht or upgrade to a larger model.

No, basically everything is included.

The only additional costs to bear in mind are the cost for acquiring and installing additional equipment voted upon by the owners themselves, any insurance excess payments that may become due following a claim, stand-by use fees, any contingency fund top ups needed and, for motorboat owners, the cost of fuel used.

Every boat is comprehensively fitted out with all the necessary equipment and luxuries, including cooking utensils, bedding, hot/cold showers, stereo with CD player, iPod connection and cockpit speakers, barbecue, electric fridge and icebox, bimini and boom awning, wind, depth and speed instruments, electric flush toilet, electric anchor winch and safety gear.

In the unlikely event of damage, each owner has signed an agreement to pay for any damage they cause to the boat.

The boat will be fully insured, which should limit this liability to a maximum insurance excess of $2,000.

The boat and equipment are initially covered by a manufacturer’s warranty and there is an allowance in the monthly fee that goes into a sinking fund for unpredictable expenses.

  • We use carefully selected brands and boats that are ideal for multiple owner use and that we believe will achieve the best resale values in five years’ time.
  • We have an office open seven days a week where your boat is berthed and have a team available for any assistance required with berthing or the boat’s administration and operation.
  • We offer the full range of maintenance services from the marina, which prevents the unreliability of contractors who may not care for your boat as we would.
  • We can offer all syndicate owners additional training from qualified instructors.
  • We have an on-water breakdown service available to you throughout Pittwater/Broken Bay/The Hawkesbury River. (Note – charges may apply for this service.)
  • Your boat will always be cleaned and prepared for your use before you arrive with the tanks full, fridge cold, hatches opened and batteries charged – simply walk on and sail off.

This is a common question and really depends on the person at the helm. Luckily for you, a member of the Smart Boating team will be around to jump on board and give you a hand.

Maybe you’re concerned because you don’t know how to sail? To be honest, if you have enough skills to manage a motorboat it would take very little to gain the skills you need to manage a yacht. All our yachts have reliable and convenient in-mast furling.

Our ‘learn to sail a yacht’ courses are great value and perfect to get you up to standard. Or we can arrange one-on-one training to suit your specific needs.

And talking of sailing… have you considered how relaxing sailing is? But can you find peace, quiet and performance on a powerboat, too? Yes, of course you can!

Our Integrity 380 powerboat gets you where you need to go quietly and quickly, at up to 14 knots. This easy to handle motor cruiser boasts the space and comfort you’d expect from a 36+ footer!

No. To ensure the vessel is kept at a high standard and for the safety of the dog and comfort of the other owners, we don’t allow you to bring any animals on board.

Yes – and we even have dedicated Smart Boating buoys in designated areas.

Testimonials

Our boat owners are just like you and they are living their best life. Read what they have to say about their Smart Boating experiences.

“We were amazed at what Smart Boating delivered for our money compared to buying our own boat outright. Both David and Martin are friendly and relaxed, and one of them is always around to help or give advice if I want it. If there are any little problems with the boat, they are always sorted out straight away. “

Mike Weedon, Hanse 345

“We simply walk on – and walk off at the end of the day, and there’s no time wasted maintaining or worrying about the boat – we leave all that to Smart Boating. We were looking for ease of use and that’s what Smart Boating delivers. We get to enjoy all the good bits about owning a boat and we leave all the hard bits to Smart Boating.”

Mark Tyler, Integrity 380

“Our share in ‘Infinity’ has not only given us more time together as a family… it has given us so much pleasure and some very precious memories – at a fraction of the cost of owning our own boat outright.”

Richard Body, Lagoon 38

The boat is always perfect. The people at Smart Boating deliver what they say they are going to deliver – a walk-on walk-off service. And they deliver it every time. We arrive to a clean boat, full of fuel and water, with fresh linen on board. We don’t have to worry about anything. We just head off up Pittwater and relax.”

Megan and Adrian Barnes, Hanse 370
