Our Passionate Smart Boating Team

Martin Lyall started his Smart Boating journey as a boat syndicate owner. He loved being part of Smart Boating so much that he and business partner David Grice bought the business!

Together they bring a rich boating knowledge and incredible passion for a system that enables hundreds of Aussie families to enjoy an enviable boating lifestyle.

Martin Lyall

“I grew up swimming competitively and training for upwards of three hours a day. When I wasn’t in the pool, I was surfing. In fact, most mornings you’ll still find me out there. I have a real affinity with the water… it’s continued throughout my life.

Afternoons and weekends were full of boating and sailing from fishing, sailing dinghies and the early days of windsurfers.

“My family had a share in a Lagoon 39 INFINITY with Smart Boating 7 years ago . I was looking for work around my business degree and offered my time over the summer – I loved it so much I’ve never left.”

For Ryan Blackshaw, life on the water is second nature, which makes his nous in matching share owners with the right vessel unmatched.

With my varied background in the marine industry, Smart Boating has been a great fit.”

Smart Boating has a real point of difference as a boat share syndicate business, and this is what drew Prue into becoming part of its operations.
